Across the Great Divide

over here is what I can do
over there is what I think I can do

in between
is the Great Divide

using mirrors
I can see over the other side

but even with crampons
I haven’t been able to cross the divide

one day I will realise
the divide is not for crossing
and I will be content

not mind-blown over
achieving the unattainable
but content

all I want is contentment
you see,
I’m of an age
